On the night of the incident, Manisha and Lakshman are accused of strangling Kishan with a rope, resulting in his death on the spot. In an attempt to destroy evidence, the duo wrapped the body in a bedsheet, transported it to Badlapur, and threw it into a nearby river before fleeing the scene.
The incident came to light on 2025-11-06, after which the police began an investigation and launched a search to trace the accused. On 2025-11-07, the police recovered Kishan's body and sent it for a postmortem examination.
