Michael Trail, 47, owner of M&M Cabinets of North Florida, Inc., faces charges of grand theft and scheme to defraud. Authorities in St. Johns County arrested him following an investigation that began in April 2026. Trail is accused of taking approximately $19,000 from clients for custom cabinetry work that remains unfinished.
Detectives found that Trail accepted a deposit of $12,256 in 2025 for a three-week cabinetry project. He failed to complete the work, offering various excuses. Subsequently, he requested an additional $6,500 to finish the job, which the clients paid. In total, the victims paid $18,756 but received incomplete cabinetry, lacking essential elements like doors, shelving, and hardware.
Investigations into Trail's past dealings revealed a pattern of similar issues with other clients. While some received partial work, they consistently reported significant delays, missed deadlines, and requests for more money for unfinished projects. Investigators confirmed that Trail knowingly defrauded the St. Johns County victims of $18,756.
