Communal tensions flared in Bahera village, Sonbhadra, following an incident on Sunday night where a group of individuals allegedly urinated on a temple wall. Nine people, including five juvenile boys, were subsequently apprehended. The situation escalated when members of different communities confronted each other over the alleged desecration of the sacred site.
Local resident Arvind Srivastava reportedly alerted neighbors after noticing the adolescents. The ensuing objection led to alleged threats from the youths before they fled. Karma police were alerted and initiated an investigation, filing a case against ten individuals, including five juveniles, for mischief and provocation. Four adults were arrested, while legal proceedings for the minors commenced under the Juvenile Justice Act, as officials worked to restore calm.
