Summary
- Richardson admitted to smoking marijuana in his car.

- He received a summons, avoiding arrest, for possession.
Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. received a summons for marijuana possession after a traffic stop in Carmel, Indiana, on October 12. During the stop, officers detected the smell of marijuana, and Richardson acknowledged smoking in his car to keep it away from his children. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed a small quantity of cannabis and 500 MG of THC gummies, both of which were confiscated. Richardson was not taken into custody, instead being issued a summons for possession and cited for an expired registration. Prosecutors formally filed the charge earlier this week. A bench trial is currently scheduled for January 4. The Indianapolis Colts organization has acknowledged awareness of the situation and is in the process of collecting further details. They have stated they will not provide additional comments at this time.
