Barry Morphew has entered a second not guilty plea in the death of his wife, Suzanne Morphew, who was reported missing on Mother's Day in 2020. The case, initially dropped in 2022, was revived after Suzanne's skeletal remains were discovered in 2023 off a dirt road in southern Colorado. Investigators previously found a unique drug cocktail, 'BAM,' in her system, for which Barry Morphew held a prescription.
The 49-year-old mother of two was last seen near her home in Salida, Colorado. Her bicycle and helmet were found separately, leading investigators to suspect they were staged. Despite her remains showing no signs of trauma, the coroner determined her death to be homicide by intoxication from the tranquilizing drugs.
