Cobb County Officer Struck by Fleeing Suspect's Vehicle

According to the Cobb County Police Department, a troubling incident occurred on October 30th, just after midnight. Officers responded to a medical call on Windy Hill Road, where they encountered Terrell Northington.
As the officers investigated the scene, Northington suddenly put his vehicle in reverse with the door open, striking and dragging one of the officers. Northington then attempted to flee the scene, but was eventually apprehended and taken into custody nearby.
Fortunately, the officer struck by the vehicle's door was not seriously injured. However, Northington now faces a slew of charges, including aggravated assault, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, fleeing and attempting to elude police, obstruction, driving the wrong way, parking in a handicapped spot, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Northington remains in custody at the Cobb County Jail without bond as of November 15th, 2025.
