Detectives from the Clay County Sheriff's Office have apprehended four suspects, three of whom are teenagers, in connection with approximately 15 car break-ins. These incidents took place over the weekend in the Tanglewood area.
The sheriff's office noted that a significant factor in these crimes was that most of the vehicles targeted were left unlocked by their owners.
As a preventative measure, law enforcement is promoting a "9 PM Routine," encouraging residents to remove valuables, lock their car doors, and secure their vehicles each night. With school now out for the summer, parents are also strongly advised to be aware of their children's whereabouts and companions to prevent poor decisions with serious repercussions.
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding these break-ins or any other criminal activity to contact the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512.
