SNL Writer's Sister Murdered: Arrests Made
31 Oct
Summary
- Christina Downer, sister of SNL writer, found dead after being reported missing.
- Her boyfriend, Delorean Brandon, and Kaylee Markowski were arrested for her murder.
- Downer's phone found on Santa Monica Beach led investigators to the suspects.
Christina Downer, whose brother is Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie, has been found murdered, with two arrests made by the Los Angeles Police Department. Delorean Bijon Brandon, Downer's boyfriend, and Kaylee Nicole Markowski were apprehended on Thursday.
Downer was reported missing on December 18, 2025, after her ex-husband sought a welfare check, as she had not been heard from. Brandon initially claimed she had left months prior, leaving her belongings behind.
The investigation took a significant turn when Downer's cellphone was discovered on Santa Monica Beach. This discovery allowed Robbery-Homicide Division detectives to identify Brandon and Markowski as suspects responsible for Downer's murder and the subsequent concealment of their involvement.
Fowlie had publicly appealed for help finding his sister in December 2025. In April 2026, his family was informed that Downer was deceased, transitioning the case to a homicide investigation. Fowlie believes his sister's phone and social media were compromised before her disappearance.
The case is ongoing, with the LAPD preparing to present it to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration.
