One of three individuals accused in the gang rape of a 20-year-old NEET aspirant in Chitrakoot has been injured during a police encounter that occurred on Saturday. During the exchange of gunfire, a police constable also sustained a gunshot wound.
Authorities have placed a reward of ₹50,000 each for information leading to the arrest of the two other accused, identified as Vivek Kumar and Pravin Patel. The encounter transpired in the Madtha forest under the Bharatkoop police station limits, resulting in the injured accused, Jitendra Patel, receiving a bullet wound.
The gang rape incident took place on July 22 in the Devangana valley forest. The victim, a NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh, was with her boyfriend when the assault occurred. The accused allegedly posed as forest personnel before committing the crime and fleeing the scene.
