Public security bodies are employing a new model that integrates professional expertise, coordination mechanisms, and big data analysis to combat IP-related crimes more thoroughly. Special attention is being paid to protecting high-tech companies, with over 140 trade secret violation cases investigated since last year.
Efforts have also focused on combating counterfeit and substandard goods, targeting fake branded products and domestic trendy items across various sectors. Cooperation with other government agencies has increased to promote joint governance in key industries like gas and electric bicycles.
In a significant case, Shanghai police resolved a chip technology trade secret infringement in July 2025, leading to the detention of 18 suspects. Authorities are committed to maintaining a firm stance against IP infringements to foster a more efficient protection environment.
