A three-year-old girl reported missing from Delhi's Kashmere Gate area on the evening of January 12th was safely recovered by authorities on January 17th. Her disappearance uncovered a significant child trafficking operation, leading to the arrest of three individuals and the rescue of two other minor children. The operation was reportedly planning to traffic the rescued children to Nepal.
The investigation began after the girl's father reported her missing while she played near his shop. CCTV footage revealed a minor leading the victim towards the Old Delhi Railway Station, where she was handed over to adults. Extensive searches and CCTV analysis across multiple stations and approach roads helped investigators trace the suspects.
The arrested individuals, identified as Nazeema, Anis, and Shamshad Alam, were apprehended near Hanuman Mandir, Yamuna Bazar. They admitted to kidnapping the child and changing their rented accommodation. The rescued children are now in protective custody, and the initial victim has been reunited with her father.
