A six-year-old girl was safely rescued on Wednesday morning after being abducted the previous evening. The accused, Pradip Pal, allegedly lured the child with snacks and chocolates near her home in Pandesara. He then took her to a secluded wooded area approximately three kilometers away.
Fearful of being discovered, particularly after hearing sounds of people nearby, Pal reportedly abandoned his intentions. The child was found unharmed when police apprehended him sleeping close to her. A large-scale search operation, involving about 50 officers from multiple police stations, was initiated after the girl's parents filed a complaint late Tuesday night.
Authorities utilized CCTV footage and intelligence gathering to trace the child's last known location. The girl underwent a medical examination which confirmed she was not sexually assaulted. The incident highlights the swift response of local law enforcement in reuniting the child with her family.
