Summary
- Dismembered remains found in a freezer and a lake.
- Wife and half-brother charged with dismemberment and concealment.
- Investigation began after a human arm was found in a distant lake.

The wife and half-brother of Dalewayne Turner, a 38-year-old Chicago man, face charges after his dismembered remains were discovered in a basement freezer and in Lake Mattoon, over 160 miles away. Robin Turner, 62, and James Adams, 26, are charged with dismembering a human body and concealment of a homicidal death.
Authorities were alerted on June 30 when boaters found a human arm in trash bags weighted down in Lake Mattoon. Subsequent searches recovered dismembered remains, later identified as Dalewayne Turner. His head and torso were found in a locked freezer at the Plainfield residence shared by the victim and the accused.
Evidence, including surveillance footage and store records, links the suspects to the crime. Prosecutors allege Adams purchased weights and duct tape, while both suspects bought concrete days before the discovery. Text messages between Robin Turner and Adams discussing cleaning supplies and moving heavy objects, along with Robin Turner's search history for "lethal drug overdoses" and "concrete mixer," further implicate them.
Reports indicate an argument occurred between Adams and the victim on the morning of June 21, allegedly leading to the killing. Adams reportedly told investigators he acted in self-defense. The victim's cousin shared that Dalewayne Turner and his wife had previously taken custody of Adams. The family has launched a GoFundMe for funeral expenses.
