Early on January 1, two individuals from Chennai were apprehended in Bengaluru following an alleged incident of harassment outside a bar. Ansh Mehta and Parv Rathi, both 22 and employed in private firms, are accused of approaching four women who were waiting for transportation and making inappropriate remarks. The situation escalated when the women alerted passing constables. The accused reportedly resisted, allegedly pushing the officers and tearing their jackets.
During their apprehension, the men were taken to the Vidhana Soudha police station, where they reportedly continued to misbehave with staff. The constables involved reported that the youths charged at them, initiating the physical confrontation.
