In Nanganallur, Chennai, a 52-year-old man, Subramanian, is alleged to have killed his wife, Nagalakshmi, a 42-year-old Instagram influencer with over 300,000 followers, before dying by suicide. The tragic discovery was made on April 27 by their younger son, Sailash, who found both parents deceased.
Police reported that the couple had been living separately due to marital disputes, with Subramanian having moved to Madurai. Nagalakshmi had successfully built an independent livelihood, expanding her saree business, Sree Sai Silks, through Instagram promotions and opening a larger store in Chennai.
Subramanian had recently returned to Chennai and reportedly reconciled with Nagalakshmi. However, on April 27, he sent a disturbing text to Sailash. Upon returning home, Sailash found his mother deceased and his father hanging in another room. The bodies were sent for autopsy, and initial investigations suggest a possible argument led to the fatal events.
