In a significant development, nine individuals, including a juvenile, were arrested by Chennai police on Monday in connection with a double murder case near Pallavaram. The victims, 20-year-old N Arumugam and his 18-year-old associate Satheesh, were found deceased inside their residence in Tirusulam.
Investigators have determined that the brutal killings were a result of ongoing enmity between two rival groups. Tensions escalated last week when Arumugam and his associates allegedly damaged property at Deepak's house. This incident led to the arrest of four individuals following Deepak's complaint.
However, Arumugam had absconded. Police sources indicate that Deepak is suspected of murdering Arumugam and Satheesh on Monday. Two key suspects, including Deepak, are currently absconding, and authorities are intensifying efforts to apprehend them.
