In Chandigarh's Daria village, a brutal incident unfolded on Saturday noon when a 35-year-old woman, identified as Seema, was fatally stabbed by her neighbor, Vinod. Police reported that Vinod allegedly attempted to sexually harass Seema before resorting to murder. The victim's husband was at work, and her children were at school during the attack.
During the assault, Seema resisted, prompting Vinod to use a knife and later a hammer, leading to her death. A relative, Lalit, arrived to find Seema in a critical state. When Lalit attempted to intervene, Vinod attacked him with a frying pan, causing injuries. Residents alerted by the commotion entered the house and rushed Seema to the hospital, where she was declared deceased. The police have registered a murder case and are interrogating the arrested accused.
