City Under Siege: Knife Attacks Plague Chandigarh

Chandigarh is experiencing a disturbing surge in violent crime, with multiple stabbing incidents and robberies occurring within a recent 24-hour period. Two separate stabbing events have left six residents injured, highlighting significant law and order concerns. One incident involved an attack during a community gathering, while another stemmed from personal enmity.

Adding to the city's distress, knife-wielding criminals have carried out at least two brazen robberies. Victims have been threatened with knives and dispossessed of their mobile phones, cash, and personal documents. These incidents have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the populace.

In a positive development, police have made arrests in connection with a knifepoint robbery that occurred on December 14. Three suspects were apprehended, with stolen items, weapons, and the vehicle used in the crime seized. One of the arrested individuals reportedly has a history of similar offenses.
