In Chandigarh, an auto-rickshaw driver and two passengers have been booked for allegedly strangling, assaulting, and robbing a 26-year-old tourist from Shimla. The incident occurred on Friday night into Saturday. The victim, Hemraj, was traveling to Hallomajra when the trio forcibly took ₹40,000 cash and his documents.
During the journey, the suspects attacked Hemraj, one using a cloth to strangle him while the driver struck him with a bottle, causing an eye injury. Hemraj alerted the police, who transported him to the hospital. The Sector 26 police are investigating and examining CCTV footage to apprehend the suspects.
