Summary
- A dog suffered a broken jaw and amputated leg after a pit bull attack.
- Authorities believe the same pit bull is linked to three separate attacks.
- A person of interest is in custody regarding the unprovoked assaults.

Center City is grappling with a disturbing series of unprovoked pit bull attacks that have injured both people and their pets. The incidents have instilled fear among residents, particularly those walking dogs or children in the area. Authorities have made an arrest in connection with the assaults, although charges are still being determined.
The most recent severe attack occurred on December 29th, when a 12-year-old miniature pinscher named Ziggy was viciously attacked during a routine walk. Ziggy sustained critical injuries, including a broken jaw and a crushed foot, necessitating the amputation of one leg. Police suspect the same pit bull, possibly belonging to a homeless individual, was involved in two prior attacks on December 26th and December 31st.
While a person of interest is in custody, the dog has not yet been located. Animal control is assisting in the search. The owner of Ziggy, who also sustained a bite wound, has chosen to speak out not for revenge, but to alert the public to the potential danger still present in the community.
