Actress and former Miss India Celina Jaitly Haag has lodged a domestic violence complaint against her husband, Peter Haag, in a Mumbai court. Jaitly asserts she endured severe emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse, compelling her to escape their Austrian residence with her children and seek legal recourse in India. The actress has requested a monthly maintenance of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 50 lakh in compensation from her husband.
Haag allegedly subjected Jaitly to racist and demeaning remarks, referring to her as his "maidservant." The complaint details how he prohibited her from working post-marriage, stripping her of financial independence. Jaitly also accused him of systematically undermining her and gaining control of her assets, pressuring her to transfer property ownership during a period of severe depression.
The domestic abuse escalated, forcing Jaitly to flee Austria at night with her children. She is seeking an order for unhindered virtual and telephonic access to her three children, who remain in Peter Haag's custody in Austria. The court has issued a notice to Haag, with the matter scheduled for further hearing.
