CBI to Trace Woman Missing Since 2024
7 Oct
Summary
- CBI ordered to trace a woman missing for over two years.
- Woman, 42, is of unsound mind and has no mobile phone.
- Allahabad High Court to hear case again on December 1, 2026.
The Allahabad High Court has mandated the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to actively seek a 42-year-old woman who has been missing for more than two years. This directive comes after the Uttar Pradesh Police were unable to locate her despite extensive efforts since her disappearance on September 8, 2024.
The court issued the order while presiding over a habeas corpus petition filed by the woman's husband. The police reported that the woman, described as being of unsound mind and not possessing a mobile phone, has proven difficult to trace.
Given the persistent failure to find the woman, the High Court has now assigned the CBI the task of locating her. The agency is required to produce her in court on December 1, 2026. State authorities have been instructed to provide complete cooperation to the CBI during this investigation.
