Authorities have arrested Krishna Kumar Lakhwani, a resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for his alleged role in recruiting Indian nationals for cyber fraud syndicates operating in Cambodia and other countries. Lakhwani is accused of luring jobseekers with advertisements for attractive overseas positions.
He reportedly charged candidates between USD 300-400 and arranged their travel to Cambodia. Upon arrival, individuals were allegedly forced into participating in cyber-fraud operations from 'scam compounds.' These victims, referred to as 'cyber slaves,' faced intimidation, wrongful confinement, and had their passports confiscated.
