In a shocking case, Jason Trundle has been convicted of murdering Leon Pratt, a man whose body remained undiscovered for 12 days. The 62-year-old victim's remains were found wrapped in a duvet at his home in Hollinswood, Telford. Trundle, who had been living with Pratt as his unofficial carer, was found guilty at Worcester Crown Court. He had previously pleaded guilty to preventing a lawful burial and fraud by false representation, having used Pratt's bank card while the victim was deceased. The court heard that Pratt, who had significant health issues and used mobility aids, had invited Trundle to live with him after they met online.
Paramedics discovered the scene on October 26, 2024, after neighbors raised concerns. They noted a strong, foul odor emanating from the property. Bodycam footage showed Trundle indicating the bedroom where Pratt's body was found, stating he had been dead for approximately 12 days. A post-mortem examination revealed internal injuries to Pratt's ribs and neck, with evidence suggesting manual strangulation and fractures consistent with a fall. Trundle is due to be sentenced on Friday. The details of their relationship and the victim's vulnerable state were central to the prosecution's case.
