- Incident occurred on Barnsole Road, Gillingham on July 20.

A care worker from Kent, Helen Tillcock, aged 43, has been sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for a violent stabbing. The attack occurred on July 20 of last year on Barnsole Road in Gillingham. Tillcock stabbed her neighbour, Sarah Hodges, 11 times during a dispute over noise.
The court heard that the neighbours, who had previously been friendly, had a falling out. On the night of the attack, a drunken Tillcock allegedly provoked Hodges by slamming her door loudly. When Hodges went into the communal garden, Tillcock emerged with a kitchen knife.
Tillcock was found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after being cleared of attempted murder during her trial. The judge described the attack as "frenzied" and rejected Tillcock's claims of self-defence, stating she was the aggressor. The victim sustained injuries to her face, head, and chest and described a significant loss of joy in her life due to the attack.
Tillcock was apprehended by officers hiding in a boiler cupboard. Her defence counsel described her life as difficult but highlighted her continued work as a care worker. She expressed regret for her actions towards her neighbour.
