A personal care home in Newnan, Georgia, is under scrutiny following allegations of abuse. An employee, Ann Cowan, has been charged with two counts of exploitation and intimidation of disabled and elderly persons. These charges stem from multiple video clips showing alleged mistreatment of patients.
The Corinth Road Personal Care Home has undergone nearly 20 inspections since 2017. The Georgia Department of Community Health has documented around 10 violations. These included issues with medication administration, staff certification, and resident facilities, such as 15 residents sharing a single shower room.
One former resident, Lisa Morgan, who paid $4,000 monthly, detailed months of alleged physical assault and mistreatment. Another resident's daughter, Danielle Slappey, reported her father sustained sores and bruises during his stay. Both victims expressed disappointment with the level of care received for the fees paid.
