In Gloucester County, four young males eluded Washington Township police late Friday night following a pursuit involving stolen vehicles. The incident began when officers investigated suspicious activity at a local development, encountering two fleeing vehicles.
The suspects, described as wearing dark clothing and face masks, ran red lights and narrowly avoided a collision before two jumped from a moving Jeep into a Chevrolet SUV that had just been stolen from a nearby residence.
The unoccupied Jeep subsequently crashed into a tree after striking three parked vehicles. This Jeep contained evidence, including credit cards and wallets, believed to be linked to multiple car burglaries reported in the area. The stolen Chevrolet SUV was last seen heading into Philadelphia over the Walt Whitman Bridge. The investigation into the events remains active.
