In Ghaziabad, three individuals sustained serious injuries after being struck by a speeding car at a petrol pump on GT Road. The incident, which occurred Sunday night, was reportedly triggered by an argument over the vehicle's improper parking for refuelling. The driver, identified as Deepu, has since been arrested, and his Maruti Swift was confiscated.
CCTV footage appears to show the car accelerating into a group of people before speeding away. One victim was reportedly thrown approximately five feet by the impact. The petrol pump manager's complaint stated that the car's driver, believed to be intoxicated, rammed into a worker and two customers after being asked to reposition the vehicle.
All three injured were transported to the district hospital, with one requiring further referral due to the severity of his injuries. The incident also resulted in damage to two diesel dispensing machines at the station. An FIR has been registered against the driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rash driving and causing endangerment.
