Baby's Death Sparks Murder Probe in Cambridgeshire

Police have initiated a murder investigation after a three-month-old baby boy passed away following a serious head injury. Officers discovered the infant, Atijus Elertaite, in a life-threatening condition at a property in St John's Chase, March, Cambridgeshire, on Saturday, January 3rd.
The baby sadly died five days later, on January 8th, after being transferred between Peterborough City Hospital and Addenbrooke's Hospital. A post-mortem examination confirmed a preliminary cause of death as a head injury.
Prior to the infant's death, a 25-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, both from March, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. They were subsequently re-arrested on suspicion of murder but have since been released on bail until April 22nd.
