California Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old Girl in Hollywood Restaurant

On November 5th, 2025, a 38-year-old California man named David Josue Lopes was charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in a Hollywood restaurant. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Lopes allegedly approached the girl inside the restaurant and then took her to an enclosed area, where he physically and sexually assaulted her.

Lopes has been charged with one felony count of forcible lewd act upon a child under 14, as well as allegations of aggravated kidnapping and infliction of bodily harm on a child under 14 years old. He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on November 10th and is currently being held without bail. Lopes' next hearing is scheduled for December 12th in the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

If convicted, Lopes could face a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman described the allegations as "horrifying" and stated that his office will use every legal tool available to seek justice for the young victim and hold the individual responsible accountable under the law.
