Officials announced on Wednesday that this cash recovery is believed to be the largest single sum ever obtained by the team. The investigation involved searches of multiple residences and vehicles across Calgary.
During the searches, officers discovered substantial quantities of various illicit substances, including suspected fentanyl, MDMA, methamphetamine, cocaine, and cannabis. Two individuals, aged 36 and 51, have been arrested and charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of a prohibited weapon. This significant seizure is connected to an earlier ALERT Lethbridge investigation from May.
