Cab Driver's Dark Past: Rape, Murder After Daily Drive

A cab driver, Basu Singh, is apprehended in connection with the heinous crime of abducting, raping, and murdering a 10-year-old girl in Delhi's Mehrauli area. Following the incident, Singh reportedly acted with chilling precision, changing his clothes and thoroughly cleaning his cab to eliminate forensic evidence before continuing his route. He allegedly accepted his next fare shortly after the crime.

Singh's past reveals a pattern of criminal activity, with at least five cases registered against him in his hometown, Khagaria, Bihar, since 2015. These include charges of molestation, rioting, and attempted murder. While Singh claims these cases stemmed from a family land dispute, authorities are verifying his background.

Police recovered the clothes Singh was wearing during the crime and utilized CCTV footage to track his movements, including him cleaning the vehicle. Technical surveillance and witness accounts led to his arrest as he traveled towards Vikaspuri. The victim's father has demanded capital punishment for the accused.

Singh had previously worked as a security guard before becoming a cabbie. His employer stated he provided the car in February, unaware of Singh's criminal history, only that he had family disputes. The employer expressed shock and failure in his first business venture.
