19 Feb
Summary
- Businesswoman Rita Ortiz was evicted from a Glendon Avenue home.
- She filed over $500 million in mechanics liens since 2023.
- An active investigation into some of the liens is ongoing.

A Beverly Hills businesswoman, identified as Rita Ortiz, was evicted on Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department from a Glendon Avenue residence. This eviction occurred despite Ortiz's claims of not receiving prior notice. The property from which she was removed is one of several against which she had allegedly recorded substantial liens.
Ortiz, the registered agent for Ortiz Consulting LLC, has filed 35 mechanics liens totaling over $500 million in claims since 2023. These claims are for alleged unpaid work, including cleaning services. Four homeowners in Benedict Canyon reported being targeted with these liens, asserting they had no contractual agreement with Ortiz.
Regarding the Glendon Avenue property, seven mechanics liens were filed by Ortiz. The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed an active investigation into at least some of the liens in question, adding a layer of scrutiny to the extensive financial claims made by the businesswoman.
