A 34-year-old businessman, Parampreet Singh, died on August 16, 2026, after falling from the bonnet of a moving car near AIIMS Raipur. The fatal incident occurred during a heated argument involving his girlfriend and her friend, Bharat Manganani.
Singh, who had known the woman for several years and whose families had discussed marriage, reportedly confronted her when he saw her with Manganani near the hospital. A dispute ensued, and as the woman attempted to leave with Manganani in his car, Singh became aggressive.
Singh then climbed onto the bonnet of Manganani's car in an attempt to prevent them from leaving. Manganani reportedly drove on, with Singh on the bonnet for approximately 200 meters, before Singh fell onto the road and sustained severe head injuries.
Bystanders alerted the authorities, and Singh was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Amanaka police station has registered a case of unnatural death and initiated a thorough investigation. This investigation includes examining CCTV footage from the area and recording witness statements to reconstruct the events leading to Singh's tragic fall. Bharat Manganani is currently being traced, and further legal actions will be determined based on the post-mortem report and collected evidence.
