Summary

- Watts killed Brown to steal $17,000 intended for a restaurant.

Jennifer Brown, a mother of two, was murdered by her business partner, Blair Watts, over a restaurant investment. Brown had invested $14,000 in Birdie's Kitchen, a soul food restaurant planned with Watts. Unbeknownst to Brown, Watts had not secured a lease for the restaurant space. Investigators discovered that on January 3, 2023, hours after they believe Watts killed Brown at her Limerick Township home, he transferred $17,000 from her accounts to his own.
Brown's body was found two weeks later, buried behind a warehouse in Royersford, Pennsylvania. An autopsy revealed she died of asphyxiation. Watts, who had initially reported Brown missing on January 4, 2023, was arrested on February 9, 2023, based on evidence including the financial transfers. He was subsequently convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. Brown's young son is now being raised by a relative.
