Brutal Gang Attacks Leave Trail of Destruction in Chennai

On the night of November 2nd, 2025, a six-member armed gang launched a violent rampage across two of Chennai's busiest neighborhoods, Koyambedu and Rajamangalam. The attackers, arriving on two motorbikes, struck multiple victims with sharp weapons, inflicting severe injuries.
The first attack occurred around 10 PM at the residence of Chandra (52) in Kolathur. The gang assaulted Chandra, leaving her with serious head injuries, and also attacked her son Rajesh, wounding him on the head and shoulder. Both were rushed to a nearby government hospital.
Later that night, the gang struck again, targeting Karthik (35) and his friends Tamilselvan (26), Manojkiran (32), and Vishal near Girija Nagar main road. Karthik and Tamilselvan sustained deep head injuries and were taken to Periyar Nagar government hospital.
Around 3 AM on November 3rd, the same gang attacked 'Auto' Ganesan (38) near the Koyambedu bus stand. Ganesan ran into a nearby hotel for safety, but the gang dragged him out and hacked him multiple times, leaving him with serious injuries. He was rushed to Kilpauk medical college hospital.
Based on CCTV footage, the police have identified five of the attackers as Amavasai, Vicky, Chinna Karuppu, Periya Suruppu, and Jeeva. The Koyambedu police have launched a search for the entire gang.
