7 Jan
Summary
- Gunman confessed to Brown University and MIT shootings.
- Videos found at a storage unit detail shooting plans.
- Shooter was a former Brown grad student with a past connection to the MIT victim.

Confessions from the individual responsible for the recent deadly shootings at Brown University and the subsequent killing of an MIT professor have been uncovered through video evidence. Authorities found recordings at a storage unit in Salem, New Hampshire, where the suspect, Claudio Manuel Neves Valente, was later found deceased from suicide. These video transcripts, translated from Portuguese, indicate the planned nature of the Brown University attack, which occurred on December 13 and resulted in two student fatalities and nine injuries.
Valente, a former graduate student at Brown, admitted in the videos to having had numerous opportunities to carry out the attack previously but hesitated. He expressed a desire to leave "on his own terms" and stated that the actions were "long overdue." While not expressing extreme satisfaction, he conveyed no regret for his actions. The motive behind these tragic events remains unclear and is under active investigation by prosecutors.
