Two brothers from Haryana were arrested by Mathura Police on Tuesday after an encounter, in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a 23-year-old postmaster. Authorities revealed that Ramveer's niece had married Bharat in December 2025 without family consent, and Ramveer had opposed this union, potentially leading to the fatal enmity. The victim's partially charred body was recovered from a canal in Palwal on February 13th by Haryana Police.
During the arrest in Kosi Kalan, near the Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border, Bharat Tewatia reportedly fired at the police. In retaliatory firing, he sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and was taken for treatment. A car, a country-made pistol, and cartridges were recovered from the scene.
