Brooklyn Graduation Stabbing: Teen Arrested

A recent stabbing in Brooklyn's Dyker Heights has left a community in mourning after 21-year-old Manuel Estanislao Chox Choc was killed just days before his scheduled high school graduation. The attack occurred in Dyker Beach Park on Saturday afternoon, where Chox Choc and his 30-year-old uncle were playing soccer. Both were reportedly stabbed by two masked assailants who then fled on a motorcycle. Chox Choc was pronounced dead at Maimonides Medical Center, while his uncle sustained injuries and is expected to recover. A 16-year-old male was apprehended by police at the scene and subsequently charged with murder, attempted murder, and weapon possession. The victim, who had immigrated to the U.S. from Guatemala approximately four years prior, was remembered by friends and family as a kind, hardworking individual with aspirations for a bright future and a desire to support his father back home. Police are investigating the possibility of gang involvement, though family friends assert Chox Choc had no such affiliations.
