Summary

- Ongoing dispute over a dog left in the hallway allegedly sparked the attack.
- Victim identified suspect by apartment number as she was dying.

Beyonce Johnson, 24, has been ordered held without bail following a bedside arraignment as she remained hospitalized. She faces murder and manslaughter charges for allegedly stabbing Shashamanie Thompson, 30, on December 27th inside their Bronx apartment building's elevator. The fatal dispute reportedly originated from an ongoing conflict concerning Thompson's dog being left unattended in the hallway.
Johnson, who has a history of mental health issues, told police that residents had complained about the dog. Although the dog was rehomed, the feud escalated when Johnson and her boyfriend, Saleh Ceesay, encountered Thompson in the building's lobby. Authorities allege that during an elevator ride, Johnson produced a knife and attacked Thompson, while Ceesay restrained the victim.
