- Families of the victims are currently unaware of their loss.
- Police are investigating the circumstances of the deaths.

In the early hours of Wednesday, emergency services were called to Brighton beach following concerns for the welfare of three women. Three bodies were subsequently recovered from the sea near Madeira Drive.
The women are understood to be aged between 20 and 30 years old. They may have entered the water from the beach where they were discovered before encountering difficulties.
Sussex Police are attempting to identify the women and are prioritizing contacting their families, who are currently unaware of the loss. Chief Superintendent Adam Hays urged patience and asked the public to avoid speculation during the sensitive investigation.
Contrary to some reports, the women had not attended a local nightclub. The Brighton Palace Pier area was initially involved before the women drifted towards the marina. The coastguard conducted an extensive search and confirmed they are not looking for anyone else.
The beach has since reopened after being closed for investigations. Police are exploring several lines of inquiry and have requested information from the public via Operation Ledmore.
