A tragic incident has led to the death of 18-year-old Brazilian influencer Maria Luiza Costa da Silva, widely known as "Malu Costantine." The attack occurred on Saturday, January 31, following a pre-Carnival event in Recife.
According to reports, Maria and her boyfriend, Gabryel Nascimento da Silva, encountered his ex-girlfriend outside the bar. An argument ensued, during which the ex-girlfriend allegedly used a knife to repeatedly stab Maria.
Gabryel was also injured when he attempted to intervene. A stranger transported both victims to a local hospital. Maria tragically passed away from her wounds, while Gabryel was treated and released. The alleged attacker, also injured, fled but was later apprehended.
Bloco do Papada, the organizers of the event, expressed solidarity and clarified the incident was isolated and occurred after their event concluded, emphasizing their commitment to peace and respect during Carnival.
