Rakhi Tied to Injured Cop After Heroic Chain Snatcher Capture

A traffic constable in Lucknow demonstrated exceptional bravery on Friday when he apprehended a gold chain snatcher. The accused, Dharmendra Maurya, allegedly snatched a chain from Ruby Kashyap, who was on her way to visit her brother for Raksha Bandhan.
Constable Naveen Chaudhary pursued and caught Maurya, but the suspect resisted, striking Chaudhary twice on the nose with a brick. Despite profuse bleeding, Chaudhary maintained his hold until local police arrived and took Maurya into custody.
Chaudhary received medical attention at Him City Hospital and is out of danger. In a touching display, Kashyap tied a rakhi on Chaudhary's wrist at the hospital, honoring him as a brother for his courage in protecting her.
In recognition of his bravery, the Police Commissioner announced a Rs 10,000 cash reward and a commendation certificate for Constable Chaudhary.
