West Yorkshire Police have arrested two individuals in connection with historical child sex abuse allegations at a former council-run children's care home in Bradford. A 63-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman were apprehended on September 10 at separate addresses in Bradford and Manchester. They have since been released on bail pending further investigation.
The arrests are part of an ongoing inquiry into claims made by two men and three women. These individuals allege they were subjected to sexual abuse at Saxton Avenue Children's Home during the 1980s and 1990s, when they were between the ages of seven and 16. Detectives are urging anyone who has experienced similar abuse to come forward.
Saxton Avenue Children's Home, which was renamed The Acres in 2014, is no longer in operation. Police emphasized their commitment to investigating both recent and historical sexual offenses against children, stressing that safeguarding and protecting children remains a top priority.
