On November 7th, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in Phoenix, Arizona. Jeffrey Rael, a 47-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of his girlfriend of 8 years, Paxton Wallace, 31.
According to court documents, Rael told police that Wallace died after a nearly two-hour drug-induced assault, during which he used a chainsaw against her, claiming she was in "demon mode." Rael said he was trying to fend off a demonic possession.
Police responded to a domestic violence call around 3:40 a.m. on November 7th, with the caller, later identified as Rael, admitting to killing his girlfriend because she was possessed. Officers found Wallace unresponsive in the living room, her face unrecognizable due to the severe trauma. A bloodied chainsaw was discovered on the kitchen counter.
Rael has a history of violence, including a previous conviction for aggravated assault in 2012 and multiple infractions for assault and drug possession during his incarceration. He was also convicted of aggravated DUI in 2010 and 2023.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Wallace's brutal death.
