In a tragic incident that occurred in October 2024, a New York man named Fernando Jimenez Meza has been convicted of murdering his girlfriend's 15-year-old son, Michael Raimondi. The attack also left Michael's mother, Christina Raimondi, and his 13-year-old brother critically injured.
According to the Westchester County District Attorney's office, the incident took place at the Raimondi family's home in Somers, New York. Meza, who was in a relationship with Christina at the time, was involved in a verbal dispute at the residence. He then retrieved a revolver from his car and shot Christina. Meza then entered the children's bedroom and opened fire, killing Michael and critically injuring his younger brother.
In a heartbreaking update, Christina shared that the family is now relocating and she is about to close on a new home, something she never imagined doing alone. "I wish more than anything that Michael was here with us to share this moment. He deserves to be here. I miss him every single day," she wrote.
Meza, now 41 years old, pleaded guilty on October 23, 2025 to several charges, including murder in the second degree, attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing. He is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
