A violent altercation near Vakil Saheb Bridge in Bopal resulted in the death of Shiva Kalasua, a 25-year-old daily wage labourer. The incident, which took place around midnight on Tuesday, stemmed from a dispute over a Rs 2 lakh debt. Kalasua, originally from Dungarpur, Rajasthan, was allegedly stabbed by two acquaintances, Sunil Khokaria and Narayan Verma.
According to the FIR, Kalasua was with others in a vehicle when Verma arrived with Khokaria and two other men. An argument escalated, and Kalasua was reportedly held by Verma and another accomplice while Khokaria inflicted multiple stab wounds with a sharp weapon. Despite attempting to flee, Kalasua collapsed from severe bleeding, and the assailants fled the scene.
Sarkhej police registered a murder case against Khokaria and Verma on Wednesday and are actively pursuing their arrest. The investigation into the fatal confrontation is ongoing.
