Bondi massacre hero Ahmed al-Ahmed recently invested a substantial sum from his GoFundMe donations into gold bullion. Following expert financial advice in Sydney's CBD, al-Ahmed visited a gold dealer and purchased gold bars. The 44-year-old hero is still undergoing treatment for injuries sustained on December 14 when he disarmed a terrorist before being allegedly shot.

Al-Ahmed received over $2.65 million through a GoFundMe appeal after video of his bravery went viral. He has since met world leaders and international media. His recent visit to financial advisors and ABC Bullion, where he was given VIP treatment, marks a step towards normalcy and managing his newfound fortune. He confirmed purchasing gold but declined to reveal the exact amount, though three 1kg bars could be valued around $750,000.

Beyond investments, al-Ahmed is using the funds for his family and ongoing medical care, including potential future surgery and nerve grafting for his shoulder. He continues to experience pain and sleep disturbances due to his injuries. The father of two resides in Western Sydney with his parents, who were visiting from Syria during the attack. The terrorist, Sajid Akram, was killed by police, while his son Naveed faces numerous charges.
