Australian authorities are probing a trip to the Philippines taken by two alleged gunmen just weeks before the fatal Bondi Beach attack. Manila officials have confirmed the pair were in the Philippines for nearly a month in November, with reports suggesting they underwent military-style training.
Investigators subsequently found "homemade" Islamic State flags and improvised explosive devices within a vehicle associated with the suspects. The incident, which Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated appeared motivated by Islamic State ideology, resulted in 15 fatalities.
Among the deceased were a 10-year-old girl, a British-born rabbi, a retired police officer, and a Holocaust survivor. Twenty-four individuals remain hospitalized following the tragic events.
