In a significant law and order operation, Bokaro police apprehended 94 absconding accused individuals following an extensive overnight crackdown across the district. The special drive, initiated on the directives of SP Nathu Singh Meena, saw 74 teams, with around 250 officers and personnel, execute 222 raids on identified locations throughout the night.
The primary objective of this intensified operation was to bolster security measures during the ongoing festive season, including Durga Puja celebrations. Police aimed to prevent wanted offenders from exploiting large public gatherings and ensure a secure environment for citizens.
Among the notable arrests was Ashok Kumar Sharma, a permanent warrant offender who had been evading authorities since 2012 in connection with a pending case. Additionally, five individuals, including Kuldeep Singh and Sita Devi, were arrested in Jaridih for allegedly absconding since 2023 in a murder case.
Mahuatand police also took Sukhdev Manjhi into custody, who had been a fugitive since 2018 in a murder case for which a property attachment order was issued by the court. Following legal formalities, 39 of the 94 arrested individuals were remanded to judicial custody on Sunday.
